This is Little Gem - a single cylinder overtype portable engine built in 1850 as No. 219 by Edward Humphries of Pershore. It is claimed to be the oldest surviving portable engine and still has many of the original parts. The Traction Engine Register lists 7 surviving engines by this maker, one in Holland.
