Stonefield Castle Hotel
Stonefield Castle was designed by William Playfair between 1836 and 1840. The surrounding Stonefield estate was originally called Barmore, but was renamed after Archibald Campbell, Chamberlain and Sheriff Depute of Argyll purchased the land in 1751; Stonefield was an English translation of the family's Loch Etive property, Achnacloich.
