Nisa Extra, Camlough
In the background is the tower of Camlough's derelict St Jude's Anglican Church. Camlough is not a stronghold of Anglicanism. The Anglicans of the area abandoned the 1774 church in 1883 and have since worshipped at the Church of the Redeemer, in the neighbouring village of Bessbrook. At the time of the 2011 Census 1.68% of the population of Camlough belonged to or had been brought up in a 'Protestant and Other Christian (including Christian related)' religion. 98.32% belonged to or had been brought up in the Roman Catholic religion. St Jude is the patron saint of desperate cases and lost causes.
