St Mary's Church - Whitby, North Yorkshire
St Mary's Church - Whitby, North Yorkshire
The origins of the parish church of St Mary in Whitby, North Yorkshire date from the earliest years of the 12th century. It has a number of features of interest, having been added to and renovated over the centuries. It was Grade I listed on 23rd February 1954 and there are 199 steps to the church from the town. The churchyard was the setting for the novel Dracula by Bram Stoker but the town has much of interest of a far more substantial form than that. Time photo taken not available.
