Reopened in 2018 following a disastrous fire in 2015, the building serves as library, tourist office and restaurant. It contains a replica carriage used by Queen Victoria and a stately dining room, for use during her visits to Braemar.
The baker's shop above is Chalmers of Bucksburn, now a major chain in the north-east. This shop used one of a far smaller chain owned by George Leith. I think he had another shop in Banchory. He made fine rowies!
