Greyfriars Kirkyard
Burial place of John Gray, whose famed and faithful dog "Greyfriars Bobby" is also buried here. The grave of William Topaz McGonagall (Scotland's worst poet) is also to be found here.

J K Rowling, who is reputed to have got the inspiration for some of the names in her books from the gravestones here, used to sit and write in the nearby Elephant House cafe NT2573 : The Elephant House cafe.
