New Footbridge for Hull
This weekend (Friday 1st. November - Sunday 3rd. 2019) saw the installation of a state-of-the-art new footbridge over the very busy dual carriageway A63 in Hull. The road forms the main east-west route through the city from the eastern docks over towards the M62 and Humber Bridge. This part of the city is a bottleneck as it has three pelican crossings on it which cause havoc with the flow of the traffic. The solution is this bridge and has been a very long time in coming. The civils work either side of the bridge have been on-going for months and the bridge span itself was constructed about 200m away from its new position. The bridge span is now in its correct place but the steps and slopes to it have yet to be fully fabricated.
