Bettws Penpont Church
This small humble church is tucked away in a bend in the A40 between Sennybridge and Llanspyddid.
There was a medieval chapel of ease on this site but in 1864-5 the ruinous church was almost completely rebuilt by Giles Gilbert-Scott, well known to scousers as the architect of the Anglican Cathedral in Liverpool. The church stands in the grounds of Penpont house and it was the Williams family who commissioned Scott.
The circular tower is unusual and the church also houses the organ originally from the Chapel Royal in Brighton.
The church was listed as grade in 1963 by Cadw.
