Ye Olde Murenger House, High Street
This is a much restored Inn said to have its origins in the 16th century that is markedly different from its neighbours. Much of the original house was demolished in 1816 and was rebuilt. A murenger was an official who collected taxes for the upkeep of the castle walls. The tax was called murage from the French, mur, for wall.
The building was listed by Cadw in 1951 as grade II for its historic interest and for the group value - the building to the right is also listed.
