Brompton Motte and Bailey castle
Brompton Motte and Bailey castle
The Motte and bailey at Brompton, possibly c12 in date is a good example of its type. It lies just north of Brompton Mill and includes buried remains of Offa's Dyke and a World War II Home Guard slit trench on the summit of the motte.
