West wing, Cork City Gaol - inside
The only confinement wing open as part of the museum, and atypical, as double-sided. The other wings have cells on one side only and appear to be internally derelict, from what can be seen. The gaol was opened in 1824 and this wing was converted from single-sided in 1870.
