taken 4 years ago, near to Axminster, Devon, England

The new footbridge at Axminster
The new footbridge at Axminster
The footbridge was constructed in 2009 when the line through Axminster was re-doubled, it having been singled in 1967 during rationalisation of the South West mainline by the old enemy - The Western Region of BR which had by then become responsible for the line. A lot of money had to be spent to remedy this error.
