King Charles' Tower, also known as Phoenix Tower, at the north-eastern corner of the city walls. Originally a watchtower, later a guild meeting room, and reputedly the spot where King Charles watched his troops' defeat at the Battle of Rowton Moor. Grade I listed by Historic England:
