TF0920 : Building an art centre

Building an art centre
Building an art centre
Long-overdue maintenance of the old Town Hall to preserve the building fabric before the conversion to an Art Centre. The Town Hall was built by public subscription and belongs to the people of the town on account of this. The county council tried to sell it before a local historian (a fellow geographist) made enough of a fuss to uncover the ownership details.

I find it quite shameful that the County Council tried to sell something they had no right to sell, and even more shameful that the building had been so neglected in the 45 years they were responsible for it that this sort of thorough rebuild is required to make it habitable.

The future bike rack is ready to be installed, and has already been decorated with a notice prohibiting smoking, in case addicts mistake it for one of their "hut of shame" devices.
