taken 4 years ago, near to Muir of Fairburn, Highland, Scotland

Over the Falls of Orrin
Over the Falls of Orrin
An aerial view of the Falls of Orrin and River Orrin. This shows the weir above the falls, diverting water into a lade on the south side. This is used for a small hydro-electric scheme. The original scheme was built in 1898, for the Fairburn Estate. It seems it was abandoned in 1961, but later revived, and still in use.

More details about the hydro scheme from North of Scotland Archaeological Society. LinkExternal link
