Broad, paved walkway beside River Tyne
Broad, paved walkway beside River Tyne
The traffic-free way is the route of both the Hadrian's Wall Path and the River Tyne Trail. The view along the river is towards bridges connecting Newcastle with Gateshead; the nearest of them is the Redheugh Bridge carrying the A189. The trelliced King Edward VII railway bridge is next then the blue-painted Queen Elizabeth Bridge which carries the light-rail system, the Tyne & Wear Metro.
