Pontefract General Infirmary (P.G.I.) from Southgate
By 2014, most of Pontefract General Infirmary had been demolished. Half of Pontefract General Infirmary's Friarwood building still remains, in this photograph. Soon that building too would be demolished. This photograph was taken from Southgate, looking over the Valley Gardens, in 2014. Behind the hospital block, you can see Chequerfield. To the right, you can just see the Circle; and in the middle of the photograph, if you have eyes like a hawk, you can just about make out the chimney of Monument House. That, too, has now been demolished.
