NT9627 : Gate alongside Commonburn Road

taken 4 years ago, near to Humbleton, Northumberland, England

Gate alongside Commonburn Road
Gate alongside Commonburn Road
This gate serves the public bridleway which continues towards Commonburn House although this gate is somewhat superfluous as it stands adjacent to an easier to negotiate five bar gate (shown at Link ). Whilst the sign adjacent to that five bar gate indicates that the public road ends at this point, the Ordnance Survey 1:25K map of the area shows it ending slightly downhill to the east immediately before the ruined cottage shown at Link.
