ATTWOOD Albert. Sergeant Gloucestershire Regiment.


BARNFIELD Harry. Private CH/2159(S) 2nd Royal Marine Battalion, Royal Marine Light Infantry. Born 1883 to Thomas and Harriett. 1891 residing with his parents and siblings at Cottages, Sevenhampton. 1901 with his parents and siblings at Lower Sevenhampton. Occupation, stone mason. 1911 residing with his uncle, Daniel Barnfield in Sevenhampton, occupation stone mason. Husband of Amelia of Andover, Gloucestershire. Enlisted at Cheltenham 6 March 1917 aged 34 years and 6 months. Occupation, bricklayer. 8 March 1917 posted the Royal Marine Depot, Deal. 18 March 1917 on HMS Victory V to 26 October 1917. Killed in action 26 October 1917. At rest in Poelcapelle British Cemetery, Belgium.
Wills and Admin, Ancestry. Harry Barnfield of The Institute Brockhampton, Andoversford, Gloucestershire. Died on date stated. His effects went to his widow.

BIGGS Charles. Private 1931, 1st Gloucestershire Regiment. Born 1892 to Charles and Sarah A Biggs. 1901 residing with his parents and siblings at Dunnywell, Sevenhampton. 1911 residing at the home of his brother Harry along with their mother and siblings. Occupation, farm labourer. Died of septicaemia in War Hospital, Hartshill, Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire 26 October 1915 aged 25. His mother was granted a war gratuity 9 February 1916 revised 19 August 1919 as Sarah A Wasley. At rest in Hartshill Cemetery, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire.

DYER Harry Emmanuel. Private 9942, 10th Royal Warwickshire Regiment. Born at Sevenhampton to Francis William and Georgina Dyer. 1891-1901 residing with his parents and siblings at Lower Sevenhampton, Gloucestershire. 1911 boarder and gardener on the Brockhampton Park Sevenhampton. Died of wounds in Reading War Hospital, Berkshire 16 September 1915 aged 24. His father was granted a war gratuity 15 December 1915 revised 30 July 1919. At rest in St Andrew Churchyard, Sevenhampton, Gloucestershire.

HARVEY Alfred Thomas. Private 7127, 1st Wiltshire Regiment. Born 1887 to Joseph Edwin and Ann Harvey, of Brockhampton nr Sevenhampton, Gloucestershire. 1901 residing with his parents and siblings at Nash Cottage, Sevenhampton Died 26 August 1914 aged 27. His father was granted a war gratuity 13 April 1916 revised 16 August 1919. Commemorated on the La Ferte-Sous-Jouarre Memorial, France.

HOLTHAM. Edward Charles. Private 17631, 8th Gloucestershire Regiment. Born 1890 at Hawling, Gloucestershire to Edward and Annie. Holtham, 1891 residing with his parents and siblings at Hill Barn, Hawling, 1901-1911 of Nash Barn Cottages, Sevenhampton Gloucestershire. 1911 occupation, under shepherd. Killed in action 18 August 1916 aged 27. His mother was granted a war gratuity 20 November 1916 revised 23 October 1919. At rest in St. Quentin Cabaret Military Cemetery, Hainaut, Belgium.

MILLS. Albert John. D.C.M. Sergeant 15772, 3rd Grenadier Guards. Born 1893 to Albert and Emily Mills of Sevenhampton. 1901 residing with his parents at New Row, Sevenhampton. 1911 in the Grenadier Guards at Pirbright Army Camp aged 18 the 26 July 1915 at St Mary’s Church, Kilburn, London he married Annie Elizabeth Seaman. He was stationed at Chelsea Barracks. Died 19 November 1915. His widow was granted a war gratuity 25 February 1916 revised 5 August 1919. At rest in Royal Irish Rifles Graveyard, Laventie, France.

MUSTOE Daniel. Private 8138, 1st Gloucestershire Regiment. Died 24 August 1916. His widow Sarah J was granted a war gratuity 30 November 1916 revised 2 October 1919. At rest in Caterpillar Valley Cemetery, Longueval, Somme, France.

TAYLOR Thomas. Private 12358, 2nd Gloucestershire Regiment. Born 1890 at Bishop Cleeve, Gloucestershire to Abel and Sarah Taylor nee Brimell. 1911 boarder at the home of the Haslum family at Roel Hill, Roel, nr Winchombe, Gloucestershire. Died of enteric fever (typhoid) in No 12 General Hospital, Rouen 5 March 1915. His father Abel was granted a war gratuity 9 July 1915 revised 23 August 1919. At rest in St Sever Cemetery, Rouen, France.

WEBB George Albert. Private 1768, 14th Royal Warwickshire Regiment. Born 1890 to Charles and Eliza Jane Webb, of Sevenhampton, Gloucestershire. 1911 residing with his parents at siblings at Sevenhampton, occupation gardener. Husband of Ada F. Webb, nee Fisher of 46, Vicarage Road., Harborne, Birmingham. Killed in action 30 July 1916 aged 26. His widow was granted a war gratuity 6 September 1917 revised 17 November 1919. Commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial, Somme, France.
