SE0996 : Ash Tree & the bottomless pond

taken 4 years ago, near to Stainton, North Yorkshire, England

Ash Tree & the bottomless pond
Ash Tree & the bottomless pond
Old maps mark this dip as a limestone quarry, and that might have some bearing on its current visual status, as two small streams flow into this spot, forever filling the pond up, but it looks like it never over flows, so the bedrock must be swallowing the excess water.
