"Canal", Antrim (1)
The grounds of the former Antrim Castle J1486 : Antrim Castle (ruin) include this split-level “T”-shaped canal (really an ornamental pond). Various sources suggest that it dates from the late 17th century. This is the view north.
Antrim Castle and grounds

Antrim Castle was built circa 1613 for the first Lord Masserene and rebuilt in 1633. The extensive grounds (now a public park) include the ruins of the castle (destroyed by fire in 1922) and Clotworthy House, built about 1840 as stables. Clotworthy House and the Castle grounds are now owned by Antrim Borough Council and are open to the public. More information available on this Wiki LinkExternal link
