SW9347 : St. Crida's church, Creed SW9347 : Churchyard at St. Crida's SW9347 : The churchyard at Creed, CornwallFrom 1793 to his death in 1817, William Gregor was in charge of the parish of Creed. A member of the Royal Geological Society of Cornwall and a keen amateur mineralogist, he is credited with the discovery in 1791 of a new metal found in black sand from a local tin mine and which he called Manacconite. Subsequently this metal has become known as TITANIUM. See
