Lock No.10 Hilden
Lock No.10, Hilden. Looking towards Lisburn. In the photo we can see the remains of the old footbridge that led from the Tow Path (left) to a strip of land (right) between the Lagan Canal, and the River Lagan (out of view to the right). Beyond the bridge is Lock No.10, minus the wooden gates that used to keep the Canal at the upper level. The water level is now controled by a concrete ramp. Note the difference in water levels. Beyond Lock No.10, is a modern bridge that carries Hilden Rd. across the Canal from Hilden to Tullynacross.
