It is in this square on the 1:25,000 scale map that one of those curious Ordnance Survey things happen. A note is appended in blue to inform the reader of the map that 'The River Ure receives the name of Ouse at this place.' What a curious way of saying that the river changes name. I wonder why someone chose to use that form of words?
