The Glamour of bygone aviation
The Glamour of bygone aviation
This sign was taken from the inner fuselage of an Avro York aircraft which was awaiting destruction by fire. Coming into service in 1943, the York was flown by both military and civilian airlines and ceased operations in 1964 in Dan Air livery. The York completed 58,000 sorties during the Berlin airlift of 1948.
