SH7779 : Traeth Melyn

taken 4 years ago, near to Deganwy, Conwy, Wales

Traeth Melyn
Traeth Melyn
The lower shore at Deganwy makes a fine sight on a sunny afternoon. The translation of "Traeth Melyn" would be the "yellow shore", which is entirely appropriate, but there is much less sand on the upper shore than was the case twenty or thirty years ago. Large patches of stable, stony ground have appeared from beneath sand cover in the southern part of the shore, and hard ground in the near distance is covered with soft, green algae.
