Castles of Leinster: Glaspistol, Louth
A 16th century tower house stands four storeys tall in a bluebell wood in the garden of a house to the south of Clogherhead. The fourth storey being very low may account for some descriptions referring to it as having just three storeys. The north wall is over 2m thick, and contains the entrance flanked by a guard room on one side, and a wide spiral stair on the other. There is a murder hole over the entrance.
