East Elevation, Charlecote Park
The house dates to the mid 16th century. Listed Grade I LinkExternal link Charlecote Park is gradually re-opening after total closure of all National Trust properties in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic. The house remains closed until further notice. It could be a long wait before they are allowed in again. The people in the photo are a BBC reporter and film crew doing a piece about the implications for the Trust of the Black Lives Matter movement. Charlecote Park is one of several Trust properties that have historic links to slavery, the wealth generated by which allowed these splendid properties to be built or extended. The Trust is conscious of these implications and is seeking to accelerate their response to them LinkExternal link
