There is a resident herd of fallow deer in the extensive grounds of the National Trust property. They were taking a relaxed view of things today.
Charlecote House and Park :: SP2556

Charlecote is a grand 16th century country house, surrounded by its own deer park, on the banks of the River Avon near Wellesbourne. The house was begun in 1558 and extended during the nineteenth century. The house and park have been administered by the National Trust since 1946 and are open to the public (LinkExternal link National Trust Charlecote visitor information).

Charlecote Park covers an area of 185 acres, backing on to the River Avon. The house is a Grade I listed building (English Heritage Building ID:482163 LinkExternal link British Listed Buildings).
