NY4724 : Looking across the new Pooley Bridge

taken 4 years ago, near to Pooley Bridge, Cumbria, England

Looking across the new Pooley Bridge
In the foreground, just beyond the ladder, is probably the best view you will get of the steel backstop. In the photo the steel appears light blue (no doubt because both photographer and contributor are graduates of Cambridge!).

The backstops are in quite large spaces, and there is an access door which you can make out, bottom left. Clearly this will make future maintenance as easy as possible.
