Electric Bridge, Musselburgh
Electric Bridge, Musselburgh
Scandalously unused asset - the bridge was the property of the South of Scotland Electricity Board and its successors after the 1980s kleptocracy. It used to be opened on race days but has not been opened for some time since the demolition of Cockenzie power station. It would be a useful addition to the busy cycle route here, rather than forcing the use of a nearby narrow footbridge. It was irresponsible to keep it closed during a time public health measures mandated us keeping at leat 2m away from anybody else.

I have no idea who owns it now, nor the extent of any repairs required to safely operate it.
