Street Art on the Tib Street Substation
The former electricity substation outside the Tib Street multi-storey car park in the heart of Manchester's Northern Quarter is managed by The Outhouse, an outdoor project space for public art, and has developed something of a cult following in recent years. The once-inconspicuous brick building has been used as a canvas by some of Manchester's most talented street artists.
This colourful artwork inspired by nature is by street artist Ketones S6000 (Jerome Davenport). It originally covered all four sides of the Tib Street substation although one side has since been overpainted by a portrait of charity campaigner Nicola Mendelsohn by Akse_P19 (
