Nangle's is an urban tower house, rather insignificant in a town famous for its mighty fortress of Trim that is undoubtedly the most important castle in the whole of Ireland. This has been described as a 'shapeless wreck with a corrugated roof'. There is evidence of latrines in the NE corner, and a squinch arch between the main block and a destroyed corner turret.
