Ardtully House, Kerry (1)
Ardtully Castle was built in the Scottish-Baronial style in 1847 and on the site of a house that had previously been demolished, along with the remains of an old castle incorporated within its walls. The most prominent feature of the house is the castellated round tower and turret on the south-east corner. The owner was Sir Richard J. T. Orpen, a Dublin based solicitor whose legal practice is still in existence today. The house was burnt in 1921 during the 'Troubles'.
