Ballyseede Castle, Kerry
Ballyseede Castle, Kerry
A detached eleven-bay three storey over part-raised basement house. It was built in c.1780 for the Blennerhasset family who were in continuous occupation until the death of its last resident Hilda Blennerhasset in 1965. The house was renovated and extended with another Gothic Revival wing to the north in 1821. After the death of its last resident, further renovations were carried out in the late-C20th to accommodate its use as a hotel.
