Behives in valley of Beldon Burn
Behives in valley of Beldon Burn
As can be seen, the flowering of heather is at its height. The hives will have been placed by a beekeeper in order that the bees will gather nectar from the tiny flowers, so flavouring the honey they produce. The scar at the left side of the image is at the site of the long-disused Beldon Mine.
