An alternative view to SH6541 : 'Prince' is watered at Tan y Bwlch. This tank was replaced in the 1980s by a larger one, situated roughly where I'm standing, that allows locomotives, especially double Fairlies, to be watered faster. The stone tower of this old tank still stands. The tank is filled by a stream that runs off the Moelwyn hills & is not dependent on the efforts of gentlemen passengers.
