SH6345 : Cleaved rock outcrop

taken 4 years ago, near to Croesor, Gwynedd, Wales

Cleaved rock outcrop
Cleaved rock outcrop
All the siltstones and mudstones of this area are well cleaved, which is handy because they are an ideal source of material for building walls, even if they cannot be used to produce good slates. The distant, pointed summit of Cnicht continues to dominate the scene.
