H0385 : Picnic spot in the Barnes Gap

taken 17 years ago, 4 km NE of Barnesmore, Co Donegal, Ireland

Picnic spot in the Barnes Gap
Picnic spot in the Barnes Gap
Deeply shaded in winter by the steep slopes of Barnesmore to the southeast and Croahconnellagh to the northwest, this picnic spot is along the N15 about half way between Ballybofey and Donegal town. The Lowerymore river runs just behind the wall and a disused narrow-gauge railway runs along the lower slopes of Barnesmore.
