Stoney Wood
To the north west of Warton Crag, the ground slopes gently away towards the low-lying marshes of Leighton Moss in a patchwork mosaic of woodland and pasture interspersed with small limestone outcrops - the name Stoney Wood seems very apt. A number of paths cross the area, not all of them rights of way, but at the point from which this photograph was taken, the well-worn path has once more reunited with the marked course of the public footpath on the map.
