Balliol Hall, West Huntspill
Balliol Hall, West Huntspill
Located next to the church, a building was first founded in 1828. It functioned as a subscription School and had rights to hold Sunday lessons. In 1875 it was extended, although then still owned by a local family. When a new school was built in 1898, the old one was scaled down.

In 1936 the incumbent rector, Vere-Hodge, personally paid for an extension to the building, to be known as the Balliol Hall, for the recreation of local youth. Today the hall is a useful facility for all the inhabitants.
