Next to the lift at Queens Road tram stop is a card scanner. Passengers using contactless payment cards, including those with free passes, are reminded on the trams not to forget to scan their cards before boarding and again at the end of their journey.
Queens Road Metrolink Depot & Station

Metrolink House at Queens Road in Cheetham Hill was the headquarters of Metrolink. Constructed during Phase 1, it served jointly as a control centre, HQ, office space, and depot for the storage, maintenance and repair of vehicles. Although still a tram Depot the Metrolink HQ has moved to Old Trafford.
Queens Road Metrolink station originally opened as a staff halt stop only serving the Metrolink system's original Queens Road depot at Metrolink House. The station opened to the public on 16 December 2013.
