SE2769 : The Stables, Studley Royal Aislabie was Chancellor of the Exchequer at the time of the 'South-Sea Bubble' scandal. He was convicted of the' most notorious, dangerous and infamous corruption' in 1721. Despite imprisonment and a hefty fine he retained enough wealth to indulge himself at Studley Royal. See link
