Approaching Adwy California Gap from the HEP Station's Air Shaft
In the quarry's hey day Adwy California was an important internal railway route linking the "A" and "C" inclines. Other tacks serving the Twll Mawr and Negro Sinks ran in adits beneath the gap.
SH5960 : A new type of rockman at Morgan Good question, but the activities are very different. The new rock men are free climbers. Their gear is only used in case of a fall. The ropes have a passive role, that of protection. The old boys would probably want the new light ropes and be very envious of the degree of safety the climbers enjoy, and that were denied to them.
