Mount Sion Works
Mount Sion Works
The former Mount Sion bleachworks, standing in the valley below Manchester, Bolton and Bury Canal and the steam crane (SD7606 : Mount Sion Steam Crane) that was once used to unload coal delivered to the works via the canal. The bleach works burnt down in the 1930s and was subsequently replaced by the Mount Sion paper mill. Today the site is occupied by the pulp mill Ahlstrom Fibre Composites Ltd
