Rock outcrop on the moor
British Geological Survey maps show extrusive igneous rock here, part of the Clyde Plateau Volcanic Formation. In this particular area, it is marked as "intermediate lavas of the alkali olivine-basalt series", and is more specifically annotated Wᴹ (for "Mugearite").
Some small flowers, a kind of stonecrop, could be seen growing here and in similar settings nearby:
