Old Quarry
Old Quarry
In this locality there are a number of disused slate quarries. Slate was, reputedly, produced here as early as the 14th century to roof Kells Priory and ceased production in the 1930s. The most notable building reputed to have this slate is the Palace of Westminster in London. Can this be confirmed?
