Balancing Pond off Meadowbank Avenue
Balancing Pond off Meadowbank Avenue
Balancing ponds are known in the housebuilding trade as SuDS (Sustainable Drainage Systems) and are designed to hold water run-off from residential areas after heavy rainfall, in order that local watercourses don't get overwhelmed and flood nearby or further downstream. This is one of two very close to each other off Meadowbank Avenue and they flow at a controlled rate into a large boggy area to the East.
