SM9934 : The Burning Ground near Llanychaer

taken 3 years ago, near to Llanychaer, Pembrokeshire/Sir Benfro, Wales

The Burning Ground near Llanychaer
The Burning Ground near Llanychaer
Photographed from outside the security fence that surrounds the former RNAD Trecwn site, still off limits to the public. This area was so-called because, being at the furthest distance from the main armaments depot, it was the place where expired explosives etc. were incinerated. Much of this ground remains bare of vegetation apart from mosses and lichens, presumably in consequence of toxic residues.
