SE0059 : Trig Point on Thorpe Fell

taken 3 years ago, near to Thorpe, North Yorkshire, England

Trig Point on Thorpe Fell
Trig Point on Thorpe Fell
Occupies a lonely and exposed position atop Thorpe Fell at 1,660ft above sea level. The column is now showing signs of distress, especially the crumbling concrete at the top of the structure.
No path leads here, thus a moorland slog over rough terrain is required to reach this spot.
Is this the highest location on Barden Moor? Some locals say so - others reckon that honour goes to the obelisk on Cracoe Fell.
